Welcome!

My name is Mr. McCrone and I am thrilled to be your K- 8 Physical Education and Health teacher this year!

Welcome to Twin Buttes Elementary Physical Education. I am looking forward to fun and exciting year in the fitness world. My goal as a physical education teacher, is to teach students how to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

My Education and Professional Background

I earned my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Southern Utah University in 1998. I have taught physical education at both the elementary and secondary levels, as well as coached a variety of sports for 26 years.

My Educational Philosophy

Over many years of teaching physical education,  Each day can be filled with many challenges and responsibilities. However, teaching physical education is full of excitement, joy, and smiles. I believe all students can learn and as a teacher it is my job to motivate all learners and challenge them to reach their full potential.

In my classes, I hope to encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth, over a must-win attitude. I find sport/exercise to be a great stress reliever, an escape from frustrations, and an opportunity to strengthen one’s self, no matter winning or losing. In Health and Wellness classes, I will promote the power of decision making and goal-setting as life skills and educate students on the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind through positive behaviors. I believe in the value of arming kids with practical, lifelong health skills, which cross over subject matter and help to develop character.

I will try my best.

I will congratulate the other team when they win.

I will be happy when my team wins, but I will not brag.

Win or lose, I will have fun learning, exercising, playing with and competing against my friends.
